I couldn't find anything in the docs that suggested that, but I'm not an
expert.

The SourceForge docs seem to be written as a reminder to the original
authors of the SourceForge system of how they did things, not really a
tutorial for new users.  If anyone knows of some magic checkbox I have to
hit to turn on anonymous access, please let me know.
