I am so surprised that in the features requests nobody mentioned being able to scan a product in the sales's screen and if it doesn't exist, Chromis gives you the option to add that new product from the sales' screen or links you to STOCK>ADD NEW PRODUCT SCREEN. I know everybody would love this feature!!!!

    There is a little bit more involved.
    Most (all of my customers) allow the maintenance of stock, which includes the add/delete/edit of categories and products, only for Managers and Administrators.
    If this feature may be available in the salesscreen, a waiter or sales staff may get stuck with an error, which in the worst case scenario may even require a restart of the system...
    This will be a lot of inconvenience to their customers, who just want to pay and leave in a rush.

    Secondly, if there is a queue of customers, how long do you want to have them all waiting because you want the feature to first get your database updated....

    Like in all "big" shops, if a product is not in the database, the clerk calls the supervisor, who in turn gives you the price and a manual edit of the ticket line follows. Updating the database happens either from a separate device or at a time when no customers are waiting....

    I think you are approaching the situation from a set point of view. For instance the privilege/permission level of the employee can allow or disallow him/her to add new product from the sales screen just like Chromis User Roles Screen. And it is an option....If you have too many customers waiting in a queue of course you won't add a new product at that time...
