Thanks for the bug report. I have some further questions.
Does this always happen when you first connect or is it only after you've been connected for a while? If you choose "Get Connection Info" from the File menu while connected to the Ubuntu server, what does it say after "Encodings:"? Then edit the current connection profile and disable that encoding (or encodings) and see if it prevents the error from occurring.

Hi, I got the same error (with changing numbers). It appears a few seconds after pressing some keys everytime I connect to the server. In my case it is x11vnc 09.10 on debian squeeze.
get server info gives me "Encodings Raw(1) Zlib (255)"
De-selecting zlib in the profile does not change anything.
I use 32 bit colors, Depth: 24, Truecolor: yes.
If you need a debug-output from the server or something else please send me a message.

Hi ingokeck, thanks for the details. If you have a chance, please try the following. Deselect ZRLE from the encodings in the profile and try to connect. If this doesn't work, then try also disabling Tight. If it still causes problems, then disable all of the encodings except Raw.

@dustinac I have a similar problem of encoding with x11vnc: remmina stablishes with x11vnc a tigh encoding session but if configured with 8 bits the session is droped without notification. Later I've discovered it's because the tigh encoding uses jpeg -> incompatible with 8 bits.
Now I can connect using a 15 bits session but I would like to try another 8 bit with another encoding (it's for WAN sessions). I've searched with no luck until I read this profile setting comment from you. How can I set it up? I don't find any doc about it neither I can do with GUI AFAIK. Remmina 1.0.0 here.

Another question: Someone else had problems with x11vnc when using 16-bit color: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3277898&group_id=364722&atid=1521165 . Do you happen to be using 16-bit color and if so, does using 32-bit color fix the problem?

Damm: I though this was a Remmina site.
Sorry!
