Dear developers,

Let me forward this bug report:

When I go into board setup mode, clicking pieces to put them on the board gives the "red circle with a line through it" icon and "freezes" the mouse, making me unable to click on anything else in the program and indeed, freezing the mouse in general. Only being able to go to the process manager and killing chessx that way will close the window and free up the mouse. I am using KDE Plasma.

I can reproduce the issue on the latest release as well as r2415 when trying to drag a piece over the board. (Using i3 on Arch). Cancelling the drag with ESC restores things back to normal.

Best regards,
Niklas

That must be an issue on Linux / X11. I have not ssen this on Windows or Mac OS.
I am using Qt5.9.2 on Mac OS. Might also be some compiler switch as dragging relies on qobject_casting.
After starting to drag a piece, the green circle with a plus should actually appear next to the piece once you enter the board.

Does thie freeze happen with pieces from the board being moved or only with pieces copied from the buttons on the right side?
Does the freeze happen when you enter the board or does it alredy happen when you start to drag?
Can you see the correct piece once you start dragging or do you see something else or only the mouse pointer being dragged?
(( I wish I could see that live or in a video ))

Can't reproduce with 1.5.6 on KDE Plasma - in case it's back, please reopen the issue.
