#115 ChessX crashes on loading big pgn files

Hello,
ChessX just crashed on me when opening a pgn file with 12000 games in it. Is this a problem with my copy of chessx or with chessx itself? I am using Mandriva Linux 2008.1 and got the program from the chessx website. I really like the GUI and the search with clicks on the top of Lists. Please help me with this one so i can completely switch to chessx for analysis and databases.

I tried to open a huge pgn file (200 Mb, 1.75 million games) with OpeningTree window open. It took several minutes on my sistem (Core2Duo 2.4 GHz with 4 Gb RAM, OS = Windows Vista), but it succeeded.

I'm leaving this bug report open for a while if you want to further comment, but if no other info is provided i will have to close is as "not reproducible" or "not a bug".

I tried it on linux. try going for a big pgn file, for instance the chessbase 11 database or something. Even small databases take much longer than expected on linux.

Thanks again for reporting this. So maybe the problem is slowness, not a crash.

Can you provide the database which causes problems?

The PGN parser is changed, now it should be much better. I am closing this bug, feel free to open a new one (and provide the offending database) if any new problem appears in the future.
