My internet connection is unstable, so every now and then I lose connectivity for around 20 seconds.

When that happens, checkgmail doesn't stop spamming me with the "login incorrect" dialog. The user and password are already there, so I try to click on accept and try to login again, but 2 seconds later I get the same dialog again.

If I try to "cancel", checkgmail instead of sitting in a corner in offline mode waiting until I get connection again, just dies. I can only click on accept until, after 15 clicks, it's able to login again.

Off-topic: also, it eats 70mb of virtual memory which is not really nice for a small daemon always running in background, but that's another story.

    Same here...

Also sometimes it just forget my password, which is a pain to always re-enter...

Same here since this week, although I don't have an unstable internet connection.
Had been using checkgmail for about two months with no problems whatsoever.

    OS is Ubuntu 8.04.1,linux-2.6.24

GMail did some change in there interface (or whatever) so checkgmail is not working since ~2 days. I just checked out svn revision 33 and its working again. Look at this.

As for the bug, maybe it should just continue trying, even if unsuccessful, until you choose a new "Change login/password" menu?
