The first line is "Checking Gmail ..." (this is in Japanese). The line in checkgmail that generates the error is "Gtk2->main;". Perhaps it is because Gmail is set to Japanese, and checkgmail isn't expecting multibyte characters?

This has only started happening recently, but it doesn't happen all the time. Using the "check mail" option doesn't cause any new messages to be printed. Restart restarts, but it doesn't fix the bug. Usually if it occurs I have to wait a few hours and then it works again.

Confirmed here too. Sometimes it works, and then it will just randomly hang up on 'checking mail' I tried what the home page says to do... with no luck. Nothing peculiar in checkgmail from terminal...

Disregard, re-tried what was on the checkgmail site and it worked correctly.
