Are you sure you included CGI::Session?
The error message sounds like autoload is trying to load the "load" method
for CGI::Session, and fails as cannot find the appropriate file. However,
I cannot find that file on my systems, and at least for CGI::Session 4.14,
the "load" method appears to be defined in CGI/Session.pm. So I do not
see why autoload should be invoked.

This code:
$sid = $cgi->param('_sessionid');
if ($sid) {$SS = CGI::Session->load($sid);}
leads to the following error message being generated:
"Can't locate auto/CGI/Session/load.al in @INC"
This is a very preliminary look at the problem. But I could waste a lot
of time wrestling with shadows when my site hoster simply has a
mis-installed or old CGI::Session version, if that is likely to be the
source of the error message.
I wonder if anyone can point me in the right initial direction here?

Matt you caught me with my Module out of date. I am running CGI::Session 3.95 on Solaris 9 with Perl 5.6.1. I don't know sysopen. I use open all the time and I get files permissions of 664 due to my process/login UMask. I didn't upgrade to the newer CGI::Session versions because I didn't want to break anything and all the chat on the list was indicating that I might have to change my code. -=20 KG -----Original Message----- From: cgi...@li... I take it you're using CGI::Session 3.95? The UMask option was added in 4.08. However, this may not matter at all. What is the umask of the process? Thanks Matt, unfortunately that didn't fix it.
I have also edited File.pm where I found "0644" to "0664", didn't fix
it.
My creator line now ----
$s =3D CGI::Session->new("driver:File", $sid,
{Directory=3D>"$server_path/cgi-bin/session/", UMask =3D> 0664 }) or
ERROR(CGI::Session->errstr);
It looks like I'm going to have to revert to chmod after the file is
written
