When on the surface of a planet with atmosphere like
the Earth, and one looks at a total solar eclipse, it
shouldn't continue to be "day" - ie the atmosphere
should darken and the surface should show the night
image.

If it's a partial eclipse it should be darkened partially ;-)

And if one looked at the earth from space one should be
able to see the shadow of the moon. Actually this
should be possible on any planet regardless of
atmosphere.

I know this is probably a bit tricky - but it would be
great to be able to simulate solar eclipses.

Oops, I realised that there already is a shadow displayed on
the planet surface. But if one positions itself near the earth
surface looking at the sun, there isn't a darkening as it should
    be.
