O-scope zoom would probably require adding a horizontal scroll bar and buffering the input data for a much longer period. Both are possible, but the scroll bar would be difficult to tame at first. However, a cheaper version could probably be made where the "zoom" simply changes the data buffer size (in true digital o-scope style), and so more or less data could fit inside the display window. That would be relatively easy to do, actually. However, the cheap version would not be able to "zoom out" while the o-scope is paused, since it would not have new data streaming in to fill the larger buffer with.
