can i expect any New user interface changes in following release. This is a nice peace of software. is GUI enhanced it could even reach Nero, i suppose. I think even more cd anddvd creating quality should be improved to battle against Nero. If you need any help in gui enhancement please mail me. but i only know how to create nice looking images. Thanks.

      Hello,

I'm very interested in contributing to this. Cdrtfe has great features and it deserves a good GUI. I would be really happy to create a new GUI and submit my code. I were looking for open source project to contribute. I have already some skills for this :
      - I have made a desktop application in Python and Qt with a hundred of classes on my own
      - I have contributed to an application in Java and SWT
      - I have participated to a project in Python and GTK (fr)http://banquiseasi.insa-rouen.fr/scm/?group_id=49
      - I have also made GUIs with Win32, Swing, AWT, JSP, Struts and ZK :)

I have already lots of idea for this GUI. I have already implemented CRUDs, MDI, docks, drag n drop, contextual menu...

First, what do we want to do ? Do we keep the language (Delphi/Kylix) or we can change it ? I can first make some screens to show ideas. Then I would code MVC so that I write views and controlers and models would bind the remaining part. Now I am looking to Nero for ideas :) I think we can do as good as that.

      Regards,
      Fabrice TIERCELIN

Yes, indeed. Currently we're discussing which changes could be made. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

There ia absolutely no need to change the cdrtfe interface. i hope it never chages too much. Yes, it needs a little tweaks. But I can rename the tabs myself. It is a little geeky. So what. I like it that way. Everything is laid out great and it is extremely functional.

Here are the main changes in discussion :

      • Add a dock with an explorer for drag and drop
      • CD info tab, fixate CD and blank CD would be moved to one new window menu to fit standard application GUI
      • A colored bar at the bottom of the GUI like in Nero (not yet discussed)
      • Replace "CD" by "CD/DVD" when both are possible

      > It is a little geeky. So what.

All the features would be kept. The GUI probably would be less geeky but I think geeks would probably prefer cdrtools as you can do everything you want.

All I'm saying is that the CDTFE interface is perfect the way it is. It does need to change. I've tried many cdrtools guis and have settled on this because it is the best and most functional. And now you want to change it?!?

The problem with using CDRTOOLS is that you need a gui. I like BAO but that is no longer active and it cannot easily be configured to burn DVDs.

Is it possible to add CDTEXT support on CUE + WAV images directly on the tab images -> choosing this option at audioCD is IMHO not very intuitive
