telling 'cdr tools not found' (nearly this text:-)
But i have cygwin installed.
It is also in my path. I use at least mkisofs on the
commandline, so it is working. I like to use
cdrtfe probably as a fe to create iso files. Currently
i burn those with ImgBurn.
I think cdrtfe should ask for a path to the cdr tools?
I can't say anything else to the software - it doesn't show up.
A Note:
1) put cygwin1.dll (and others) in the cdrtfe dir is NO solution,
more than one cygwin1.dll is like asking for trouble: you can't run
more than one application using cygwin, and users may have a server
running under cygwin, or like me having a script run every x minutes.
Another note ( corresponds to 1)
Where is the source for cygwin1.dll? :-)
This is not an evil question, but reading the cygwin mailing list
told me that this has to be done. And it forces users (~programm authors)
to use an existing cygwin installation (This is the only reason why i
am asking for the cygwin source, i am not really interested in that).
'You' are violating the cygwin license if the source is not available
on the cdrtfe site. As i read in that mailing list red-hat (~cygwin)
don't ignore those violations (probably 'cause its an easy way to force
users to have just one cygwin installation).
Greetings
Peter
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Either copy the cdrtools into the cdrtfe program folder, or copy cdrtfe into the cdrtools folder. Currently, cdrtfe does not search the system's path for the commandline tools only for the cygwin1.dll.
You could also use the file cdrtfe_tools.ini to set the path for the tools (only relative paths allowed).
> [multiple cygwin1.dll]
As said above, cdrtfe searches the path for the cygwin1.dll. So just remove thy DLL which comes with cdrtfe. The program should find the one installed on your system.
"If you distribute a (possibly modified) version of the DLL you must adhere to the terms of the GPL, i.e. you must provide sources for the cygwin DLL."
The source of the cygwin1.dll that comes along with cdrtfe can be found on the main cdrtfe download page located at sourceforge.net, package 'tools 1.2':
As I consider the cdrtfe project page (including all sub pages, like 'Forum', 'Download', etc.) and the cdrtfe homepage as one cdrtfe site, this should be sufficient to comply with the cygwin license.
Of course, if you think that this isn't enough, there's no problem to add some additional links to the tools 1.2 package on to the download sections of the cdrtfe homepage.

Oliver
