I have the same problem: cdrfte can't find my cd burner, although the drive is working correctly under my new Vista Business notebook (Lenovo T60 with Matshita (Panasonic) Drive).
Providing the suggested cygwin.dll didn't resolved the issue.
Some hints would be appreciated, as I got used to this small programm. (Running another OS is unfortunately not an option)

Please start cdrtfe in debug mode (from the commandline: cdrtfe /debug) and send the log via eMail to kerberos002@... (see help file for the complete address).
If the cygwin1.dll wasn't the cause for the problem, then the program or user may not have the privileges to access the cd devices.

Well, I don't exactly know. I don't have the possibility to test cdrtfe under Windows Vista but I have seen screenshots of cdrtfe running under Vista (e.g. http://www.wintotal.de/softw/?id=3867&img=7031).
Just try it and if you find any problems please report them.

The error seems to occur within the cygwin1.dll. cdrtfe currently comes with version 1.5.14. You could try to replace the dll with a newer version. You can also try a newer version of cdrtools. Download (e.g.): http://www.student.tugraz.at/thomas.plank/index_en.html

I have a problem with Vista where the program doesn't find my cd burner. Any reasons it wouldn't be able to find it? It is a sony drive built into a dell laptop.
Thanks
