I just burned my 1st CDR with cdrtfe! This is a much bigger deal than you can imagine:
old way: Dell desktop with Win XP using Roxio Creator Plus - Dell Edition
today: Dell Win 10 laptop w/ an ext Dell CD/DVD burn drive with cdrtfe
I have been doing it the old way for many, many years. CDRTFE worked pretty much right after install, just had to change the SCSI intf from auto to SPTI.
Q: cdrtfe can overburn: check, cdrtfe can adjust the burn speed: check. I couldn't figure out how to assign a (text) volume id to the disc? Is that possible? I can do it using the "old" way. Thanks!! :-)

The volume id can be changed:
CD/DVD Label
The name of disc (default: 'CD') can be changed, by marking it and pressing F2. Alternative: Context menu -> Set CD label.
Awesome ... Thank you @kerberos002 !!
