I really hate asking this question because I know it must be obviously simple to a lot of you. I have searched endlessly on the net, and through the forum for an answer but have failed to find ANYTHING that will help.
I downloaded the cdrdao-1.1.5.bin.x86.linux.tar.gz file. Un tarred it and found the binary file cdrdao. After running this file i get the following output....
-----------------8<-----------------
[root@zerah cdrdao-1.1.5.bin.x86.linux]# ./cdrdao blank
Cdrdao version 1.1.5 - (C) Andreas Mueller <andreas@daneb.de>
SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling
L-EC encoding library - (C) Heiko Eissfeldt
Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty
/dev/cdrecorder: HP CD-Writer+ 8200 Rev: 1.0f
Illegal instruction
--------------->8--------------
I originally thought it was my cd writer, because i had a cheapie, but when I put the HP in the same thing happened.
I then had a feeling that the /dev/cdrecorder file was pointing to the wrong device, perhaps to the hdd instead of the scd0, after checking all that looked fine.
I would really appreaciate any help with this. If any more information is required I will do my best to obtain it.
I apologise if this is covered elsewhere. If it is could you please point me in the right direction ??
Thankyou
