Hi,
I tried cdrdao-1.1.7 with my Plextor PX-4012TA CD-RW. I
must say I never managed to get this drive working with
cdrdao (and it seem to be the case off all plextor
cd-rw user since 24x model !).
I works nicely whith cdrecord !
For example, when I try to read toc :
---
[on1mgl@room on1mgl]$ cdrdao read-toc --device 1,3,0
test.toc
Cdrdao version 1.1.7 - (C) Andreas Mueller
<andreas@daneb.de>
SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling
Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty
Check http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html#dt for
current driver tables.
Using libscg version 'andreas-0.5-UNIXWARE_Patch'
1,3,0: PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W4012A Rev: 1.02
Using driver: Generic SCSI-3/MMC - Version 2.0 (options
0x0010)

It simply doesn't end !!! The drive is silent, the
orange led stays on (busy state). This doesn't crash my
computer or lock my bus.
Here is what I have in my kernel log :
Oct 26 13:22:02 room hdd: lost interrupt
Oct 26 13:22:02 room hdd: lost interrupt
Oct 26 13:22:02 room hdd: lost interrupt
Oct 26 13:22:02 room hdd: lost interrupt
Oct 26 13:22:02 room hdd: lost interrupt
And so on...
I'm using Mandrake 9.0, kernel 2.4.19.
Also, they are missing space in the config database for
Plextor drives which prevents detection :
W|PLEXTOR|CD-R PX-W8432|generic-mmc|OPT_MMC_CD_TEXT
W|PLEXTOR|CD-R PX-W241040|generic-mmc|OPT_MMC_CD_TEXT
W|PLEXTOR|CD-R PX-W2410a|generic-mmc
W|PLEXTOR|CD-R PX-W4012A|generic-mmc|OPT_MMC_CD_TEXT
Only one space after "CDR" for the last three devices.
Should be three !
Please help,
Laurent
