Afraid I can't help you much with that; it's been a while since I tried loading a video DVD image to cdemu and play it. For VLC, you might want to try toggling the "DVD report CSS/CPPM" setting in device's Options tab. Depending on the image, maybe that will help. But if I recall correctly, don't both mplayer and VLC directly support playing from .iso? Is it necessary to use cdemu for that?
