Hello, I am a CDAT/VCS newbie, hoping to be pointed in the right direction. My ultimate goal is to write a script that displays plots from our (UKMO) portable climate model interactively -- i.e. showing plots from specified variables for the previous model days. I have had success with selecting parts of the data (latitude, longitude, and time values) and have been able to plot from example files. I have several tasks yet to be completed that I feel stuck on. I have read through the .pdf's and the tutorials but I am not still not able to figure out exactly what to do. These tasks are: 1. Flipping the plot. Because the Met Office uses north-to-south in the model I am using, the plots I am able to do are all upside down. I am wondering whether there is a way to flip the plot in vcs, or whether I am going to have reorder the data in the files somehow. 2. Multiple plots on one canvas. This is mentioned in the vcs tutorial but I can't get my head around it. My goal is to have 12 plots -- 3 rows (representing 3 days) and 4 columns (representing six hour intervals during a day). Is this a matter of creating a new template with these specifications? 3. Overplotting. For each of the 12 plots, I want to plot a boxfill (representing precip) and plot an isoline (representing pressure) over the top of it. Again, is it a matter of fiddling with templates? I appreciate any help. Thanks ~~ David Hein Scientific Programmer Met Office Hadley Centre London Road Bracknell Berkshire RG12 2SY dav...@me... Tel: +44(0)1344 856569 |
