The company that make Sanden CO2 HPWH was sold and rename to SANCO2. We need to rename the Sanden to SANCO2. Model numbers attached.

Harvest Thermal also list their HP combined hydronic in the NEEA listing. They uses the same unit as SANCO2, I guess technically they can use it just for water heating, so perhaps we should add them too.

The attached screenshot lists 3 SANCO2 models and 3 Harvest Thermal models. None of these models are currently in either the schemas or the CBECC rules.

The current Sanden models in the schemas and CBECC rules include the following:
    Sanden GS3-45HPA-US & SAN-43SSAQA (43 gal)
    Sanden GS3-45HPA-US & GAUS-160QTA (43 gal)
    Sanden GS3-45HPA-US & SAN-83SSAQA (83 gal)
    Sanden GS3-45HPA-US & GAUS-315EQTD (83 gal)
    Sanden GUS-45HPA-US & SAN-83SSAQA (83 gal)
    Sanden GUS-45HPA-US & GAUS-315EQTD (83 gal)

And, while Harvest Thermal is listed in the Res schemas as "HeatingUnitBrand", there are no models under this Brand.

So, is the intent to leave the existing Sanden models AS IS, and only ADD these new screenshot models for SANCO2 and Harvest Thermal?

Or, is the intent to change all existing Sanden models to SANCO2 models, and ADD the new screenshot models for SANCO2 and Harvest Thermal?

    Or, some other intent?

Sanden was renamed to SANCO2 for a few years now. We should just remove the existing Sanden models and add the new SANCO2 and Harvest Thermal models.

I want to make sure I am clear about this. So, moving forward with future 2022 releases of CBECC-Res (and Com) we do not need any backward compatibility with the existing Sanden models. I can simply remove those models and add the SANCO2 and Harvest Thermal models?

What I believe Danny/CEC is saying above is that users should only see and select in the UI SANCO2 options. This alone says nothing about backward compatibility.
I believe we still need full backward compatibility -
Users of future CBECC-Res releases need to be able to import prior release models (that may include Sanden references) and those models should be recognized and updated to SANCO2 in the upcoming & future releases. This we covered earlier in our call.
Likewise - users in the future should be able to generate compliance reports using XML output from current/past releases. And the Schema loaded onto the report generator server MAY need to be updated between now and then - so it is important that the report gen server (schema) also recognize and handle the old Sanden selections in addition to SANCO2 options. The DisplayTerms should all report out SANCO2, but the schema enumerations should still include both (old and current) Sanden models as well as (old, current & future) SANCO2 models.

    Thanks Scott. This makes sense.

SourceForge Revision 2479 commit addressing this ticket. Pending Chip review of approach.

    • Update HPWH lookup spreadsheet and CSV
    • Rename "Sanden" manufacturer to "SANCO2"
    • Add "Harvest Thermal" manufacturer and models
    • Update CBECC enumeration and reporting rules
    • Pending schema updates required to match new SANCO2 and HarvestThermal brand/models. CF1RPRF XML output is currently readable for these new brand/models, but will change with schema updates.
    • Passing previously existing Sanden models, and new SANCO2 and HarvestThermal models to CSE using existing Sanden40, Sanden80, and Sanden120 whASHPType enumerations.

Schema needs to update to report the new name and harvest thermal.

The latest schemas on GitHub have been updated for this issue (https://github.com/NORESCO/2022-CBECC-Res-Schema/issues/59#issuecomment-2427153682)
However, the current PDF rendering of the report is not correctly displaying the Brand and Model display terms. This has been noted in the GitHub issue to be addressed.

This issue has been fixed in rules, schema, and PDF rendering. It is ready for verification.
