-QII impacts are being accounted for inconsistently in alterations. QII does not apply to alterations and therefore should either always or never be applied in the SD and PD for every assembly regardless of status.
-In the case of "Altered", "Verify Existing", the user input attic insulation is not being applied properly to the Proposed Design.

    Questions on approach to fixing the problem regarding application of QII -
    Test models and graphic of expected proposed/standard simulation input implies that QII IS activated in both proposed and standard models, despite selection of 'no' for QII in model 32. Furthermore, if the user attempts to switch QII ON for this model, they get an error message indicating that QII cannot be applied to the model since no surfaces are present that can benefit from this setting.
    One thing we may want to consider is to hide and hardwire behind the scenes this Project>Building QII setting when the user model includes no applicable surfaces. It would be hardwired to 'no' in this case.
    Second thought - if QII is not to apply to altered surfaces and the user or ruleset has set QII to 'no', then shouldn't we degrade surface performance in both proposed and standard models (rather than simulate both as having QII applied)? If so, then the highlight (indicating issues) for each parameter in the graphic associated w/ models 32 & 33 should be switched - indicating that prop & std expected values and std design CSE file settings are all degraded for lack of QII.

    Don't hide QII input for Add/Alter analysis, but DO list comment on screen for EAA project indicating it applies only to 700SF+ additions
    DO assume NO QII for existing or Altered surfaces - only apply across board for New Cons and also for 700SF+ Addition New surfaces
    When QII not applicable - that goes for both Proposed & Standard simulations

    mods addressing this ticket checked into SVN @ rev 2448 -

    • prevent analysis abort (switch error to warning) in case where QII activated when no applicable surfaces are present in model (simply ignored for analysis)
    • set new Cons:cseCavCONS:CSEComment property to document (via CSE input comment) cavity insulation R-value of those constructions w/ frame/cavity constructions

    Rules in their current state apply QII ceiling cavity insulation degradation across all projects and models (prop & std) attached to this ticket (back on 6/22/23) - per discussions and decision that all existing & altered surfaces (in EAA projects) are to be modeled w/ QII degradation in both proposed & standard designs.
    Remaining work is to simply confirm that no further changes are needed here.
