#142 More infos about scale factor?

Dear Christopher,

first of all: I realy like Capture2Text! Thanks so much for creating it :)!

I have a request concerning the scale factor. I was wondering if you can give some more infos or suggestions about it. Unlike "trim capture" and "deskew capture" infos are missing on your website . In my experience the scale factor will have huge impact on OCR results. Even changing it a little bit (e.g. from 2.2 to 2.3) will lead to different results.

Is it possible to determine the scale factor in a mathematical way? Like if I know the resolution or something else, can I determine the best scale factor? Or is it just pure trail and error:)?

PS: My post goes along with this request "I am also somewhat curious about methods to determine the optimum preprocessing and scale factor with any given image to improve ocr accuracy with capture2text." in this post. An I would aggree with the following in the same post: "Scale factor, to my knowledge, simply enlarges the image while not actually improving the image quality, however I've found it having unpredictable impacts on ocr accuracy when changed depending upon the source image."
