Hello, For the past week I've been setting up a new Cajun 4.2 installation on a Debian box. Everything works great except for one thing: Cajun doesn't display anything on my CrystalFontz 634 USB display. I've installed LCDproc 0.5.0 and tested it. After starting LCDd, LCDproc's 'system' screen is displayed, and their lcdproc client works just fine. I've configured an LCDproc output device in Cajun and when Cajun starts the LCDproc system screen updates to show one client and one screen, but nothing is displayed but LCDproc's system screen. I turned on the additional logging options and in Cajun's log file I can see that my IR commands are being processed and that Cajun is processing the output filter. (I can see the lines of text that I wish were being displayed on the LCD) I've also checked LCDd's log file and confirmed that it logs a new socket connection whenever Cajun starts. Has anyone tested Cajun with LCDproc 0.5.0? I see in their release notes that the API has changed; would I be better off downgrading to LCDproc 0.4.5? If the problem with using 0.5 is the new API, has anyone already tried to get Cajun working with LCDproc 0.5? I hack Perl, MySQL and Apache for a living, so I'd be willing to attempt to implement a setting in the LCDproc output driver within Cajun to enable the new LCDproc API -- but I'd also appreciate knowing if someone has already attacked that particular dragon and retreated... Anyway, thanks Paul (and other contributors) for the work you've done on Cajun. When I decided to pursue this project I was thrilled I didn't have to roll my own software from scratch. I'll eventually get my LCD working, and when I do I'll have almost exactly what I envisioned from the start... -Patrick |
