#16 Image Import

Other (18)

The problem occurs if linked images doesn't provide an extension. Especially if images are pushed by a script. A solution would be that the header of the file is read out and because of that the filetype/extension is recognized.

no, it is not. the problem occurs when a page/script does not pull a real file name. then the problem would be that the filename cachebox gets has no extension or a wrong extension (the one of the scipt like .php or something else). the problem could be solved in one way:
if the image is downloaded, a check of the extension (which will already be detained) is made. if the extension is not png, jpg, jpeg or bmp, than cachebox looks into the header of the file and determines the filetype and so the extension.
at the moment, i'm reading a little bit about how to detect images by reading the file. but i won't be able to create a patch this week and from saturday on i will be on holidays for 1.5 weeks.
