Since Byzantine is smaller than a typical Compact Flash
(CF) card, can it be run from compact flash? How about
answering that question at:

Byzantine is i686 platform, if your computer has USB boot
option in bios, please select it. Then, put the iso on
flash card from cdrom. If iso mounts in ramdisk during USB
boot, all is well; if not, iso file may have to be altered
to trasfer from USB instead of from cdrom.
