Bygfoot Football Manager 2.3.2 is released

Bygfoot is a small and simple graphical football (a.k.a. soccer) manager game featuring many international leagues & cups. You manage a team from one such league: you form the team, buy & sell players, get promoted or relegated and of course try to be successful.

Bygfoot Football Manager 2.1.1 is released

Bygfoot is a small and simple graphical football (a.k.a. soccer) manager game featuring many international leagues & cups. You manage a team from one such league: you form the team, buy & sell players, get promoted or relegated and
of course try to be successful.

The unstable release 2.1.1 has some new features, contains new country definitions, has more translations for the training camp and some bug fixes.

New features, minor changes:

Changes in gui to make bygfoot more usable for blind users.
Added the possibility to swap players using the RETURN key.
(thanks to Roberto Burceni for the input)

Added a couple of new tags to the XML definition system. Related
to weeks with two match days of the same competition.

Changed the ticket income of cup matches without a second leg.
Now the ticket income is subdivided. 50% for each team.

Changed the costs of the training camps.

New definitions:

Added new definitions for USA, Argentina, Mexico, Japan

Editor for team definition files available

Sebastián Moncho from Spain has made a Java-based editor for Bygfoot team definition files, making it a lot easier for all non-programmers to create definitions of their favourite teams.

This is a quick follow-up release fixing two annoying bugs:

  • the game crashed when a user won a cup or lost a cup final
  • the Windows version didn't save correctly

  • CPU teams have strategies, meaning that they play a bit more intelligently now
  • betting: you can try to earn some money by betting on match outcomes
  • job exchange: you can try to apply for jobs in other teams (even in other countries)
  • some usability improvements, e.g. left/right-click behaviour
  • reworked Brazilian definition, added Greece definition and updated German definition
  • as of this release, the source update feature (patches) of the bygfoot-update script is deprecated... read more

Versions 1.6.2 (stable) and Bygfoot 1.7.2 (development) are available now.
