Only one breakpoint works. After you hit it if you step into or step out program runs to the end

That sounds strange. Maybe you didn't compile all the source code with debug information. Use the View -> Other Windows -> Debug View to inspect the gdb log.

This does not seem to be an issue with BVRDE.
Something wrong with GDB installation. I have the same weird behavior when using GDB directly
