Alright. Well the Bohemian Virus Bulwark stood up reasonably well under the first round of end-user testing. Among the most often voiced complaints was the fact that the user interface was not very easy to use, but what can you expect from a TUI anyways? A group of new features was put together and this following list is a list of things you can expect to see in the next few releases:
- change entire interface; migrate to gui
- change scan so that it uses hashes and checksums instead of the first 512 bytes(SHA-1)
- add support for multithreading
- add a real time change detection mode
- use a system tray icon and variable priority threads
Thats all for now folks. See you again at the next release.
Today, October 9th, 2008, marks the first release of the relatively new project entitled the Bohemian Virus Bulwark. Although the project is currently only being developed by one person, contributions from others are likely to be imminent. The projects goals include enhancing security for all 32 bit Windows platforms by detecting viruses and other malware with a number of clever and unconventional scanning and data collection techniques. The release coincides with the Revision 1.3 Source.
