Hi.

Here are propositions to adding some new features to buzztard:

1. Adding jack support. There are many music soft which has feature supporting jack, Adding this feature to buzztard would increase possibilities to use.
2. Add modular server for use of buzz plugins as jack plugin/application. Do you remember buzz plugins - there was few of them. You can crenate another plugin for linux. It could be something similar as alsa modular synth. But based on buzz generators and effects (of course you can add also dssi/ladspa/lv2 plugins also). So in the window of this buzz plugin application you can create one generator and many buzz effects connected in chain to master output. That one generator will get midi events from outward sequencer connected by jack. Then generator create sound which is next processed by buzz effects connected to him and next sound is sent to application output. This output will be visible in jack - so you can connect this output to system playback in jack.

What you think about this ideas? Isn't good? In my opinion that would be really great development in electronical music! There are so many great generators and effects in buzz! Now you could use it also in jack. That would be great. And the one important thing of implementation it if you agree to implement this idea is: REMEBER OF MIDI TIMESTAMP! That is really important if you want to avoid midi jitter. I'm talking about this because there are many jack based soft-synths which just discard midi timestamp and which causes jitter... If you want to build jack based application you have to know about rules of jack-midi based systems. You have to send rendered sound in period/buffers to jack. And at this point to remember of midi timestamp is very important thing if you want to avoid midi jitter. Many developers of jack based applications don't remember of this, so please don't make their oversight again.
Please consider my ideas and think is it possible to implement. It shouldn't be very hard for developers who started with buzztard too add this features.
I also could think of developing it, but buzztard is not my project - and this could take veeeery long time to achieve.
So again, please consider this ideas and give some reply.

Thanks in advance for reply.

Michael.

So far we have jack support for audio I/O. Jack midi support is planned, but right now we lack contributors helping to implement it.

Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your content seem to be running off the screen in Internet explorer. I'm not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with browser compatibility but I thought I'd post to let you know. The layout look great though! Hope you get the problem fixed soon. Kudos
