I'm still around, but my regular email address is down. I've had a nice long holiday from VC. I have some changes planned but what I really need is suggestions for machines you need. I'm not so much interested in the 'out there' ideas right now, just the problems you've had with existing machines, and things you feel *need* to be there for VC to be usable. If anyone is still there, thanks for ... still being there. :-) My new email address is aybiss[ert] exemail.com AUSTRALIA. Still free of spam, so PLEASE don't tell anyone just yet. :-) |

Hi Syntarn :-) I just released a new version of VC. You can uninstall Gtk# now! I fixed a few things and added some cool stuff - panning using an envelope. It's not fully functional yet, but the demo track shows what you can do. Have fun. Hope you're well. :-) Aaron. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aaron Oxford - aaron+hardwarehookups .com .au Director, Innovative Computer Solutions (Aust) Pty. Hey nobody, Another flurry of activity brings a greatly improved VC release. As mentioned before, tracks can now be named and cross-programmed. This did require various changes to the .wtm file format, but allowed for numerous other minor fixes and updates to be made. Please be aware that this will prevent you from loading all WTM files made to date. If anyone really complains I might consider writing the code to load old files. On the bugs front, I've fixed operation of the note-off key. My apologies to Syntarn who reported the bug ages ago. Y'all'll also be pleased to know that I've fixed the main window losing focus or disappearing. It was an annoying thing even during debugging, and basically came down to some Gtk# wierdness and some messy coding on my part. Also, I fixed the erroneous 'Unknown Command' messages, a crash loading envelopes with extra points, and funkiness with envelopes and adding points in the envelope editor. This release involved a pretty major overhaul of some areas, so I expect a few bugs to surface. Having sorted this out allows me to now move forward with development of VC's features as an actual composer, ie machines, sample types, editing tools and so on. There are plenty of areas in VC that still need work, but for the immediate future the progress will become more feature oriented, and targeted at demonstrating VC's ability to do more than other similar programs. St8uned, Aaron. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aaron Oxford - aaron+hardwarehookups .com .au Director, Innovative Computer Solutions (Aust) Pty.
