I agree with Michael,

I think is best to go to burp2 with protocol = 1 (don't use protocol 2 as
it's not production ready).

burp2 server and client have fixes that burp1 doesn't and burp1 will not
have those fixes never in the future.

If this is first implementation, maybe also our ansible roles could help
