Hello! I’m a new BURP user. After years of wrestling with Bacula, I find BURP’s feature set and simplicity extremely enticing. The word that keeps coming to mind is “elegant”. Thanks for all the work you’ve put in! It seems with OS X clients, BURP doesn’t backup any extended attributes, such as ACL’s, resource forks, etc. Unfortunately with even one Mac on the network, I can’t use BURP. There are too many legacy files on OS X that become useless without resource forks. (Fonts are one that comes to mind.) So I am still using Bacula in these cases. Are there any plans to add this? I don’t have much coding experience, or I’d attempt to do so myself. Perhaps support could be ported from the Bacula client? Thanks again! -Joe Rhodes |
