I am using this btwincap for a long time, because I’ve ordered myself some 8 channel bt878 capture cards from china, and that was very cheap and with that, was the biggest mistake of my life, because I’m having problems like hell
I am restricted to only use 5 channels of video input channels per PC. Doest matter how many card’s you add, problems doesn’t get solved
This is a GREAT driver for the bt878 card, but only if your use it for 1 channel, not for multiple channels
The problems I have:
Can’t use more then 5 channels per PC on low resolution “352x288”, I’m using a 8 channel capture card 240fps = 30 fps for each channel
I can’t use more 5 channels, If I do, the thing makes crazy black flashing lines all over the image and now and then a Interlace problem on motion, and if there’s to much motion on the image, the channel crashes, that’s only if a use more then 6 channels, I’m using it for CCTV, I have upgraded a couple of years ago from a P4 2.8Ghz Celeron D 1.2GB RAM, that have done a OK job “only low frame rate”, to a 3.2Ghz Core2due and some 2GB RAM, and have hoped that buying a very fast pc will do a better job, nope, I only get a much better!! Frame rate though
If I make all the input channel max resolution “720x576”, I get a mess ”it makes random black lines and the image is kinda mess up Interlace problem, then there is motion”, but my cameras have a much better image, the original Diginet software that comes with my capture card supports all 8 channel perfectly with the high resolution but the software is cr@p, and the drivers on the CD only works on that software, it’s not WDM, and I need WDM drivers for my software, because I’m using active webcam on my system, And watching the videos is easy!! And watching the cameras is very easy with my homemade intranet website with high frame rate on the hidden away server
Another problem is, the more bt878 drivers you install on the PC “like for example, for my 8 channel card, have 8 (bt878) drivers installed for the 8 channel card, just to be clear”. The longer is takes for the black screen with the windows XP logo saying that xp is booting
I’m not a programmer, but I think something is wrong here, I know this is opensourge software, and it’s hard to work on it, and I assume it takes a lot of time debugging it and so on
