This release introduces an interactive step-by-step tutorial translated into all 13 supported languages, resizable Win32 main windows, a mouse-draggable horizontal splitter bar to resize the results tree view, right-click popover context menus under Linux, and bottom-aligned preferences dialog buttons.

Today we are pleased to announce Burn to the Brim 4.4.1, a stability and bug-fix release resolving issues with deep backtracking recursions and preventing trace log truncation.

Recursive Solver Stack Overflow Fix: Solving large datasets with deep folder structures and split level 2 previously triggered stack overflow exceptions (0xC00000FD) on Windows due to the default 1MB thread stack limit. BTTB v4.4.1 refactors the recursive backtracking solver to pull timing, logging, and selection calculations out of recursive stack frames, minimizing frame memory usage under 64 bytes. Incremental, Non-Blocking Tree Rendering: When solving large filesets (e.g. 250+ files or directories), the results TreeView loading previously blocked GUI operations, causing windows to hang. BTTB v4.4.0 implements background-threaded batching of 100 insertions at a time using GTK idle loop callbacks and Win32 message queue triggers. here's a little update on the current state of affairs with BTTB.
As I just (finally, after 6 months of mailing resumes) got a new job, I have to temporarily grant priority to that job alone and thus have very little time left for BTTB.
Once I have time again, I foresee this in a few months, I will start taking your requests and bugs up in my agenda and start fixing things.
I encourage everyone to, in the meanwhile, keep writing your questions here and in the bug-tracker. When you have answers, even make-do ones, please post them too.... read more

Burn to the Brim version 2.6.1 fixes a major bug related to group-creation (present from V2.6) plus some minor bugs. Also some messages are clearer ('empty/too big' messages)
The add medium screen is brushed up somewhat and now (again) includes the possibility to enter the medium size in MB values.

Burn to the Brim version 2.5 now allows the user to directly create ISO 9660 files of the filled CD's, using mkisofs by Joerg Schilling. These files can then be burned by an arbritary burn-program that supports the ISO 9660 format.
