Musemap can generate square maps and I think it's faster to edit with than the alternatives, but Thump is definitely decent too. I'd encourage you to try both of them out and see what works for you. As far as maps go, this is indeed not for just the Frontier, I need maps for the codebase. I'd be open to seeing basic RS maps, smaller sim maps, maps to be used for training players (re: gauntlet), and whatever else comes to mind. The easiest way to do this would be to either get access to a Linux box with Subversion, or find out some way to run it on Windows (not sure if they have a Windows client or if it'd run under Cygwin). From there we can set you up with commit access to the maps project and you can hack away to your heart's content. If you manage to put anything together, get in touch with me and I can show you what to do with it. Let me know if you have any more questions. |
