Greg, this is Shabui Shima again. I am still interested in making maps for 5555. If you can point me towards the appropriate map making program, that is about all I should need. If I develop a cool one, I will submut it to you for review, and you can distribute it to the staff as you see fit. DOes that sound acceptable? My goal is to use VB synthesis three sets of data into Battletech style maps, USGS National Elevation Dataset (NED), USGS Landcover, and ESRI/GDTS streets. If successful, it would mean you could pick a location in the United States, download the data, and generate a map at a specific scale. I have been thinking of this possibility for years (since I did some mapping for Varxsis back in the 90ies).
