There needs to be a command to explicitly tell the
bots where to travel to. This is necessary for
debugging navigation and waypointing issues.

Maybe the ability to "label" waypoints would help (i.e.
waypoint number n labeled "market"). Bot instruction would be:

say_team "bots rush market"
