Some ideas to consider:
Tovero is written in C++ and reads and writes .g binary databases,
although not all primitives are supported yet. This makes it
compatible with the BRL-CAD tool set. A couple of rendered sample
models and their Ruby scripts are located on:
The images were rendered with rt (from within the Ruby script).
Tovero uses its own tree structure written in C++ to store geometry in
memory. It could form the basis of a more general geometry converter
for BRL-CAD. If there is enough interest from the BRL-CAD community,
this is something Roan Trail could work on. We are preparing a new
release, including the radio tutorial reworked for Tovero.
Tovero might also serve as an additional code sample for learning the
BRL-CAD development API. The Tovero library has a license compatible
with BRL-CAD (LGPL v2.1).
