I really like the concept of single login: my current
intranet is a pile of unrelated software. Fortunately, they
all use cookies so this isn't a real problem. Maintaining
the thing is! Every part has to be upgraded seperately :(
Brim is almost perfect - al the tools needed for a "personal
intranet" are there. It's still a bit rough IMHO, but I'll
keep an eye on it for sure!

Concerning the rough edges of Brim, I am constantly working
on improving the ui and provided functionalities. To set my
priorities, could you explain a bit on what exactly would
you like to see improved?

I know quite a few Open Source PIM-tools and some realy have
a mature look and feel (like the mentioned Address Book).
So, maybe it's about the themes. I like compact overviews,
something that can be accomplished by seting the theme to
mylook with small icons.
Maybe, the seperate applications look too much like each
other(?) - there is a lot of trees, which is not my favorite
navigation style - definately not for items like the checkbook.
I DO like the way the "Brim" look places items on the page
and the nice way the options (add, today, etc) are placed in
a nice grey container.
So, as I mentioned, it's hard to tell what's "wrong"
exactly. I'll have a thorough look soon and try to give some
more feedback...

I've found a nice example and since a picture says more then
a thousand words...
http://www.protopage.com/
It's not open source, but you can use a 'non personalized'
page without registration.
Just as an example of a 'good looking' GUI.

Ahh... I see. I don't prefer this kind of UI though... But
this should be possible in Brim, now if there was just
someone to implement this.... ;-)
