#74 Issue with download in linux

I'm running ubuntu 9.04, and have tried using both the linux builds of bricxcc and nbc to compile and upload serveral test programs (including some example programs from http://bricxcc.sourceforge.net/nbc/nxcsamples/index.html\). Whenever I do this, the brick screen freezes and stays like that until I remove a battery and reinsert it.

And ideas what could be causing this?
