This relates to issue 40, but I've written it up here since I added it as summary after issue 40 was marked fixed and I wanted to give it more rationale.

The Functions feature on the icon is very useful, but it belongs more in the code section than it does in the goto section.

One might argue Functions belongs in the goto section because you goto the function, but on that basis one can argue find belongs in the goto section because you goto what you find.

Moving Functions to the Code section takes this advanced, um, function "out of the hair" of non-developer users, who may well use the Goto section, but will never use developer features like this one, which is why it belongs in Code. This simplifies the view of regular users and is clearer for developers who might expect most code features to reside in Code.

With the issue 40 suggestions of combining all comment functions into a small split button, there is room in the Code section for Functions to replace the large comment button, without increasing the size the Code section, whilst making the Goto section smaller.

    I've realised that whilst moving Functions to the Code section is a good idea, I'm not so sure combining comment/uncomment into a split button is quite a good idea at least right now.

    I think for now, I'd prefer to see Corresponding File become a "big" icon like Comment is (infact replacing it), and make comment a small icon above uncomment. This a) makes the layout more natural (why should comment be bigger than uncomment), b) reduces the likelihood of commenting something out / in when trying to open a corresponding file and c) makes as good if not better use of the space.

    The end result being something like this:

    _______________________________________
    (.)      F()         H         Comment
    Run | Functions Corresponding  Uncomment
    ^        ^         File       Language
    _______________________________________

    All of this also pushes Run nearer to the middle of the screen to which seems to appease some OCD thing in me which is bonus ;)

    You might also consider making Corresponding File more an initially empty split button that when pressed populated itself with the file list. It would need to clear itself on close so it never presented unrelated stuff ever. If there were no files it could state (no files) in the drop down too, instead of appearing not to work as is currently the case. This would alleviate the feeling that the corresponding file list appears in a tiny window in a random area.

    Is this even possible? It's not important but I thought I'd throw it out there as an idea. What do you think?
