Flac conversion problem: Error cannot access input file
Audio converter and CD ripper for various formats

Hi,
I'm trying to convert a flac music file to mp3 but everytime I try I get the following error message:
Error cannot access input file: /home/mark/Music/01 - Cna't Rely On You.flac
What settings do I need to change to get the decoder to recognise it?
Many thanks,
Mark

So you can add that file to the joblist but get that error message when trying to start the conversion?
That's strange. That message should only come up if the file has been removed/renamed or the file permissions have changed after it has been added to the joblist.
Please check the permissions and owner of that file.

Check the permissions by the Music folder / left click properties, permissions and they look fine
Also checked by the terminal and got this but I'm not very good with Linux...
-rw------- 1 mark mark 22635337 Nov 10 22:20 01 - Can't Rely On You.flac
Hope this helps.
Mark
Changed the permissions to the following:
-rw-rw-rw- 1 mark mark 22635337 Nov 10 22:20 01 - Can't Rely On You.flac
but it still doesn't work.

OK, permissions look normal. Thank you for trying that.
I think that the file might be an invalid FLAC file and that's not detected/reported correctly when adding it to the joblist, but only when trying to start the conversion.
Could you send the file to info@freac.org for analysis? Or better yet, upload it to a service like DropBox and send me the link as it's quite big. I'll have a look at it then and will tell you what's wrong.
You're right some of the files I ripped aren't good and don't play while others do?
Never mind I've re-ripped them and this time they all work so there isn't anything wrong with FRE:AC!
Many thanks,
Mark
OK, thanks!
I'll close this ticket in two weeks.

How do you fix this Error I also have the same problem?
The OP had corrupt FLAC files and had to rip them again in order to convert to a different format.
If you want me to take a look at one of your FLAC files and check if it is OK, upload it to a service like DropBox and send the link to info@freac.org.
