The documentation for the 3com switches says that the
bonded (trunked) NICs should have seperate MACs for
their trunking scheme to work properly. Indeed, from what I
can see by the activity lights (both light up on the switch but
only one of the NICs shows activity) the outgoing traffic is
done round-robin but the incoming traffic is on only one leg
of the trunk. Is there some way to configure the linux
bonding module to use seperate MACs for the slave NICs?
