Before we moved to cookie-based authentication, it was possible to allow anonymous access to Bodington directly without any challenge (even pressing the guest button). Jon decided to keep this anonymous access completely separate by running it as a separate servlet. Again, I think it is a hangover from ealier days and can probably go.
