if you put HTML into the intro box of web document, the
data is displayed on the page twice. 

It should be pointed out that this will happen and that
the way to do it is to type the name of an uploaded
file into the intro box.

Left hand panel display is broken -- it should display a listing of the
uploaded files by default (and an HTML file if that file name is specified
in the introduction field).
