Note that it's possible to Watch a mediawiki page and be notified on
changes.  I tend to do this with eg. Bug pages.  This assumes you can
confirm your email address, of course...  If you're involved in fixing
bugs for 2.8, watching the bug page might be prudent.

I've found that it's not that reliable. Haven't narrowed it down yet, but one situation seems to be 
when you go to view changes made (after receiving email) and the editor makes further edits. In this 
case you don't get an email for the later edits...
