Just had a support request from a potential Bodington evaluator who can't find any installation instructions for the 2.4 he just pulled from Sourceforge. On looking around... neither can I. Who's got 'em, or what have I missed? - Peter -- Peter Crowther, Director, Melandra Limited John Dalton House, 121 Deansgate, Manchester M3 2AB t: +44 (0)161 828 8736 f: +44 (0)161 832 5683 |

The documentation task force is currently working on all things related to documentation. Installation instructions should be a priority. I suspect there's a lot to do in this area and any help from other institutions would be gratefully received. Paul Trafford is commander in chief so if anybody wants to help then he's your man. We could buy him a Captain's hat and a parrot for his shoulder! adam -- Adam Marshall: OUCS, 13, Banbury Rd. Oxford OX2 6NN. Are we going to call Bod.org operations HQ...? ;-) Anyway, we certainly need to work on documentation and it is a big undertaking and needs a collective effort. I've started looking at general documentation, particularly for general use and administration, but I'm not a developer. So my first request is for someone to co-ordinate the development documentation. Anyone like to step forward and carry out this important and honourable role? - Paul |

I was banging on about this a few weeks ago... As far as I know there are a few bits and bobs around regarding installing Bod and the database, etc, but very little about what you need to do after installing, like creating the right kinds of resource to create new users, change passwords, etc... When I was banging on about it I suggested it was more important to get installation instructions out than any other type of documentation. Alexis and Paul Trafford have provided some help with setting up Postgres, at: http://ramble.oucs.ox.ac.uk/software/index.html I have a copy of the Floor managers guide we use here, which is apparently based on one at Leeds(?) which I can send you, otherwise I think there's some stuff at: http://bodington.org/bodington/site/ Sorry I can't be more helpful, I need to go home at 5pm today...
