DO I remember rightly, or was there at some time a Spanish version of Bodington? I espa~nolised only the messaging room tool but I have a feeling that Alistair's (superior) i18n work displaced mine so it probably isn't going to work now. Does someone need Spanish? Thanks to Alistair's work I could do the job relatively easily although it will take quite some time to complete all the templates etc. (I also have access to native Spanish speakers with experience of using Bodington to teach.) Thanks for your kind comments Jon :) The i18n only works for xml templates though. If someone needed the whole site in Spanish it would mean a lot of conversion to new style templates. Then again, that was one of my many jobs, to identify the most used ones from the logs... --=20 Alistair Young Senior Software Engineer UHI@Sabhal M=F2r Ostaig Isle of Skye Scotland > I espa~nolised only the messaging room tool but I have a feeling that > Alistair's (superior) i18n work displaced mine so it probably isn't > going to work now. > > Does someone need Spanish? (I've had hours of conversation with people about how to translate VLE into spanish and I don't think we ever did come to a conclusion. It's the word environment that causes the problems since the Spanish equivalent really only refers to outdoors envirnoments, the climate, flora and fauna etc. It's debates like this that slow things down because the only proper solution is to consult people who work in this field in Spain and of course that takes time.) By the way, isn't there an automation tool for converting the templates? Jon |

I've just done something I'd been promising for a while - a follow-up to people who had received a demo CD or download. It came to about 180 valid names since we took over in August last year - by valid I took out duplicates and obvious mistooks. One response was along the lines of "It looks good, but I'd be even more interested if it was in Spanish" Paul ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jon Maber" <jo...@te...> To: <bod...@li...> Sent: Tuesday, March 28, 2006 7:49 PM Subject: Re: [Bodington-developers] Spanish Bodington > Alistair Young wrote: > > >Thanks for your kind comments Jon :) > > > > > Kind comments? Do you think that contact might be interested in supporting a translation project? Unlikely - the comment on how the trial had progressed was "Don't have time to do test" It did cross my mind...
