Instead of installing the Start Menu shortcuts under "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu" (or offering a choice), Bochs just installed them under "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Star tMenu". Result: I didn't get any entries in my actual (restricted) account's start menu. Of course, these paths are only examples: it's different on Vista, it's different with German Windows, etc. and you don't include any of such literal paths in code, but I think it's fairly clear what the installer ought to do (and that most people don't use limited users on XP).
My OS is Windows XP SP3, and I use a limited user to run my applications, with some help from sudown and runas for administrative stuff.
Fixed in SVN now.
