I'm being silly, Ok, found it, managed to compile with --disable-joystick
(no big loss here). Unfortunately wxPython 2.3.2 is nowhere to be seen,
only 2.3.2.1 which doesn't compile.

Nevermind, I think I'll have to pass on this one for the time being :-(

Well, yes, sure. I was still thinking of an rpm.

Dig to understand how it works. As I said I am just starting to learn Python.

As somebody else already pointed out, at least in RedHat 8.0 this is in
the python-devel package.
