I would have sent this immediately, but when it worked, it began the CVS
checkout, and i wasn't able to access my wincvs preferences until the
checkout completed.

You were right about CVSROOT -- it should be set to
ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/Boa-Constructor

also important is the "Authentication" field below that one

it worked for me set at "passwd file on the cvs server"


Then i just chose CvsAdmin | Login  and hit return without entering a
password to the dialog, and i was able to log in.

At that point I was able to checkout the module boa.
